"Hello there!

For those of you who haven't joined a live class yet, my name is Rivky, and I'm delighted to be working with you at the CSL Senior Men's Club to improve your health, happiness, and quality of life!

I first became a group fitness specialist, active aging specialist and personal trainer in 2011, and have been passionately working in the fields of Health, Wellness, Fitness, Medical Fitness and Massage Therapy ever since!

In 2014, I completed two nutritional diploma programs, one in Sports Nutrition, and the other in Diet & Weight Loss Management. In 2015 I became a Postural Specialist, specializing in postural deviations and ergonomics for those spending a good portion of the day seated. If you've ever noticed in our recorded videos why there is such an emphasis on postural improvement, there you have it! Keeping a healthy and strong spine is absolutely vital to our every-day wellbeing!

Shortly thereafter, I continued down the path of massage therapy and became a registered Massotherapist and Kinesitherapist. Specializing in injury, pain management and chronic illnesses, I was brought into several rehabilitation institutions to work with post-stroke patients and others with movement limitations.

Other endeavors I have had the good fortune to be a part of include being an educator and presenter at the Zumba Instructor Convention in Orlando which hosts 10,000 fitness professionals each year, as well as being asked to present at the Fitness Mania conference in Boston in 2021. Over COVID, I was asked by the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA to oversee and direct a Montreal-wide initiative which focused on the physical and mental health and wellness of seniors in isolation, a program in which we had over 200 participants. Finally, over the last decade, I was contracted to create and deliver fitness and wellness programming for Rogers, Deloitte, Saputo, McGill University, Université de Montréal, and more.

As for what's keeping me busy today - currently, I oversee virtual and onsite health and wellness programming for Telus Health's employees in Montreal, Toronto and Burnaby. I also teach A.E.C. accredited theory classes including Postural Development and Movement Analysis, Adapted Programming for Chronic Illnesses and Sports Psychology within Montreal CEGEPS. Finally, I run a mobile Personal Training and Massage Therapy business for individuals interested in these services who are unable to leave their home. And, OF COURSE, get to enjoy immensely three live classes a week with my CSL Men's Club crew!

So, why am I telling you all this? Well, because I know how hard it is to start a fitness journey at any age, and one major component to a successful journey is making sure you're getting good and safe information! It's tough enough to get started without having to worry about all the conflicting information out there. My top priority is to make sure you have all the right information, as well as the most engaging and effective workouts, at your fingertips. I want to make sure you feel safe, heard and EXCITED to get into your fitness routine, and feel confident in the classes you take here!

At the CSL Men's Club, we welcome your feedback and your questions, and can't wait to hear more from you!

See you on screen!
